The Body Shop Drops of Light Pure Healthy Brightening Serum Review

Hey my beautiful readers!

Welcome to my beauty blog ๐Ÿ’•

The Body Shop has always been one of my favourite skin care brand. My skin care routine can never be complete without The Body Shop product in it. It's been over a month now that I have started using The Body Shop brightening serum as a part of my skin care routine. Let me share my experience with it in detail here.

Brightening Serum

Product Description

From these cold, clear waters, we sourced this potent brightening Red Algae extract and infused it into our Pure Healthy Brightening Serum.
Drop by drop, skin reaches a new level of brightening by efficiently targeting the key dimensions of pure, healthy bright skin. Our serum is also clinically tested to significantly reduce the number and intensity of dark spots.

Instantly: Complexion looks brighter, more luminous and re-plumped with moisture.

After 4 weeks: Skin imperfections and yellowness look reduced, pores look minimized, and skin looks fairer and more translucent.

The Body Shop Brightening skin care products come in white theme packaging. The serum comes in a white coloured glass bottle with a dropper to take out the required amount. The packaging is quite nice in terms of hygiene but obviously not travel-friendly because of its glass bottle. You might break it until and unless you bubble wrap it (which nobody bothers to do).

Drops of Light serum

Texture and Application

It has light in texture that feels very soft and non-greasy once gets absorbed. It is colourless, feels just like watery glow serum.
After cleansing and toning, I like to take 3-4 drops of The Body Shop drops of light pure healthy brightening serum on the palm of my hand. I rub the serum onto my hands and gently pat the serum all over my face. It gets absorb quickly because of its lightweight consistency. It adds glow to my skin immediately after applying. I finish it off with my moisturizer and sunscreen on top of it.

I have been using The Body Shop brightening serum more than a month now and I still have a lot left in my bottle. A bottle can last for at least two months if you use it twice a day.
Although it claims to reduce the appearance of dark spots, I personally did not feel much change in few pimple marks on my face.
It helped to provide moisture to my skin making it look well hydrated and plump, but as my skin is sensitive it gave me temporary red bumps too.
It has Red Algae extracts which are rich in Vitamin C, help to make skin look brighter and luminous.

The Body Shop Drops of Youth range products suited me well, but I guess Drops of Light is not meant for people with sensitive skin like mine.

- Provides hydration to skin.
- Moisturising properties.
- Non-greasy formula.
- Rich in Vitamin C.
- Makes skin plump.

- I got temporary red bumps on skin after using it for more than a month, so discontinued.
- Doesn't make big difference to the dark spots.
- Bit pricey.

**If you do not have sensitive skin, you can try out The Body Shop Drops of Light serum as it doesn't feel heavy on the skin, provides hydration and helps moisturize your skin. Please don't expect to magically vanish all your dark spot, it might help in fading them.
